LOST in TRANSLATION

[ Mom and little sister are getting things together to paint little sister's room. Sister wants room to be painted red, yellow, and green. Mom looks through our collection of paints, only to find Orange and pretty much no red, yellow, or green]

Mom: What color should I mix with the orange to get red?
Lisa: You can't mix anything with orange to get red, because RED is a PRIMARY COLOR.
Mom: No, I'm gonna add some white to it to make it more red.
Lisa: That's just going to make the orange lighter and then eventually...White.
Mom: Then i'll add some purple to it.
Lisa: Red is a Primary color Mom, you can't mix any colors together to make it. Trust me, I learned this wayyyyyy back in Primary when I was 5!
Mom: I don't trust you. You don't know what you're talking about.
Lisa: Do you know what a "primary" color is?...it's like the most basic part of something. It's the most natural state of something. It's like trying to plant a tree without the seed, the seed being the color "red" and you thinking you can just make a tree magically appear without having the "seed"

[After feeling a flow of frustration come over me, I had to "woo-sah" myself out of the conversation and just let them get on with their painting. You can try and lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink!]
