happy-ness.

happy-ness -noun.
1. the quality or state of being happy.
2. good fortune; pleasure; contentment; JOY.

HAPPINESS results from the possession or attainment of what one considers good:
the happiness of visiting ones FAMILY.

About a month ago, on a hot and equally humid Tuesday afternoon, I found myself thousands of miles from what I and the yellow pages consider my place of residence, yet the closest to Home I have ever felt in my 21 years of existence: Temple Square.

As a little girl growing up in the Rose Park suburb of Salt Lake City, Utah, I often dismissed the blessing of being in such close proximity to such a sacred and peace-giving place. My upbringing may only be my only bias but I can say that I also believe that any purely good place could attempt to bring about the same feelings. If words were sufficient for an accurate description of the peace that emanates from such holy ground, it would probably take a lifetime to express.

Living in a society where 'the pursuit of happyness' becomes a coin toss between worldly pleasures and eternal joy, I find great comfort in the peace that radiates from such a beautiful place. Such peace that if transcended continuously throughout the world, we wouldn't just be speaking of it but 'being' about it. I know I am loved and have a purpose and this place confirms that to the depths of my heart. I hope to always remember that feeling of peace and ultimately share it with others through my actions and interactions.

Here's to
WORLD PEACE (:
